We prioritise a safer, more respectful environment for athletes, creators and fans
A recent study published by World Athletics laid bare the extent of the online harassment athletes continue to receive on social media.
This comprehensive project focused on the Paris Olympics, and here are some of the sadly unsurprising results:
- 809 posts were verified to be of an abusive nature
- verifiable abuse was directed at athletes representing 20 different nations
- racism and sexualised abuse made up more than 48% of abusive posts
This goes way beyond athletes of course, with sports fans and other users of social media finding it an increasingly toxic experience.
Our mission to redefine the creator economy and give control back to celebrities includes a pledge to all users of our digital HQs to provide them with a safe space to interact.
